Dallas, TX, May 30, 2012 – Who do you trust, and what is your trust based on? Dallas teens have created intriguing viral videos on the theme of “Start With Trust” for a contest sponsored by BBB serving Dallas and Northeast Texas. View the videos now on Facebook at www.facebook.com/dallasbbb, and spread the word about your favorites on social media. The more views that a video receives, the better chance the video has to win the BBB Dallas Student Video Showcase.
Better Business Bureau in Dallas invited students in the BTW Film Club at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas to participate in this first-ever competition. Film club members worked in teams to produce short videos running under 5 minutes and promote the videos through social media.
“The students have done an outstanding job on their videos about earning and keeping trust,” said Jeannette Kopko, spokesperson for BBB serving Dallas and Northeast Texas. “BBB advises to ‘Start with Trust’, and that goes for customer and business relationships as well as other relationships in our lives. Trust can be earned with truth and reliability, but once broken, trust is difficult to regain.”
“The film club members were eager to create compelling videos about trust that viewers would want to share on social media,” said Niloo Jalilvand, Film & Video Technology / Mathematics Instructor, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visaul Arts, Dallas, TX. “They've turned out videos that are entertaining and thoughtful.”
The winning video in the BBB Dallas Student Video Showcase will be selected on the basis of how well the theme of “Start With Trust” is conveyed and how many views each video receives on YouTube. See the videos at www.facebook.com/dallasbbb.
Film club members also produced “making of” videos about the process of putting together the video contest entries. The winning “making of” video will be selected based on how well it portrays the process of making the videos.
Each participating team receives a $150 gift card, and the winning teams will receive $500 each.
